The Comic:
One Too Many (OTM) follows the lives of Vincent and Jacob, two friends living in the Chicago suburbs. Jacob is the child of wealthy parents where nobody is quite sure what they do for a living. In their desperate attempt to buy his love back after years of neglect, they buy Jacob a house. This story takes place when Vincent moves in with Jacob and tries to make a new name for himself here. Vincent is a typical guy with not-so-typical problems. He too deals with “mommy/daddy” issues which were caused by his other issue: delusions of an imaginary friend.
The usage of OTM as a comic, for me, was in 2004 when I started working on a comic publishing site called Smack Jeeves (and I say “for me” because apparently there were other OTM’s, but they have been out of use for some time). I dabbled with the comic here and there for the next few years until 2007 when I bought this domain and began working on the comic. The first run of OTM on this site was fine and all, but the beginning was rushed and it went through 3 different writers. Styles changed too much so Houston and I felt we should restart it and created what you are viewing today. From 2009 to 2010, we gradually built a small collection of the comic while writing ahead and preparing to promote at ACEN ‘10.
The Creators:
Ryan J. Janeczko – Ryan is currently a student at Columbia College of Chicago for Graphic Design and is the Artist of this dandy little show. Currently working as a designer in a print shop as well as a freelancer, he is always looking to find projects to add to his portfolio. Many of his influences come from reading various Batman and Marvel comics as well as from the artists such as Mohammed (Hawk) Haque, Jim Lee, Ian McConville and other various artists.
Deale Houston- Deale is the writer for OTM. (Still waiting on his write-up)
